Scuba Diving in Zanzibar

Zanzibar is reputed to have some of the best diving in the world, and the coral reef structures that surround Unguja and Pemba ensure that the marine life is abundant. Good visibility (20 - 60 metres) and a year-round average water temperature of 27°c ensure that you enjoy your Zanzibar diving experience, and also present an ideal opportunity for learning to dive or upgrading your diving qualification.

Diving in Zanzibar isn't restricted to beginners. Experienced scuba divers can enjoy exciting wall dives, night dives and drift dives. In deeper waters, lush coral gardens often stretch as far as the eye can see, and large gamefish (barracuda, kingfish, tuna and wahoo) hunt together with large Napoleonic wrasse, graceful manta rays and sharks. Shallower waters are the playground of tropical fish, including a huge variety of Indo-Pacific marine fauna.

Why Scuba Dive in Zanzibar?

Scuba diving in Zanzibar is one of the most thrilling experiences of your life. Seen from the air, isolated coral reefs appear as turquoise jewels in an otherwise empty ocean. Seen underwater, when snorkeling or diving, the profusion of life and the riot of color and activity are cause for constant wonder; the eye barely has time to rest on one curiosity or delight before its attention is demanded by another. Wonders of creation lodge through our experience Scuba Diving guides in zanzibar will endeavor to show you a variety of the prime dive sites - we frequently see Turtles, large Groupers, Blue Spotted Rays, Morays and the occasional Reef Shark. The deeper water off the east coast is host to Whale Sharks (March, August & Sept), Leopard Rays and Dolphins. The variety of corals is excellent and reef fish abound.

Vaccinations: Yellow fever vaccinations are compulsory. Hepatitis A and tetanus are recommended.
